Logo design and branding for a traditional Bulgarian restaurant.
As the graphic designer entrusted with crafting the branding identity for Gozbitsa, my mission is to encapsulate the essence of this cherished family-owned restaurant.
Nestled within the heart of Bulgarian tradition, Gozbitsa beckons guests to indulge in authentic Bulgarian cuisine served with warmth and hospitality.
Drawing inspiration from the restaurant's namesake, derived from the Proto-Slavic word *gostьba, meaning food served to guests, I set out to design a logo that would embody this sentiment. The centerpiece of the logo is a cooking pot, known as güveç, a traditional earthenware pot, synonymous with Bulgarian culinary heritage. Its presence evokes images of hearty meals shared among loved ones, creating a sense of nostalgia and comfort.
Incorporating elements of Bulgarian culture into the branding was paramount.
I chose to integrate the shevitsa, a captivating form of Bulgarian embroidery, to infuse the design with authenticity and charm. This intricate detailing not only pays homage to Bulgaria's rich artistic tradition but also adds depth and character to the brand identity, reflecting the restaurant's commitment to preserving cultural heritage.
The color palette and typography that complements the cozy atmosphere of Gozbitsa uses warm red tones. To complete the branding, I selected the Slovic font. Slovic pays homage to Bulgaria's linguistic heritage, adding depth and character to the visual identity of Gozbitsa.
Through thoughtful design choices and attention to detail, the branding identity of Gozbitsa emerges as a testament to the restaurant's commitment to offering an unforgettable culinary journey steeped in Bulgarian tradition.
